Why Hire Me?

Home / Why Hire Me?

In this digital age, when everyone has a camera on them everywhere they go, it can be easy to seriously underestimate the value of high-quality custom portraits. After all, you can always just whip out your cell phone and shoot some great candid spur-of-the-moment photos whenever the mood strikes. The difference between amateur photography and a professional custom portrait is very significant.

Think of it this way: a custom sofa adds the perfect finishing touch to a living space. Why? Because it has been measured to fit the room perfectly, built by experts, and designed to specifically match the homeowner’s tastes and needs.

It’s much the same with custom portraits. As an artist I take the time to understand who you are and what you need. I use my skills not just to snap photos, but to craft images that perfectly capture you. I use the truest colors, the best lighting, and the most efficient tools to ensure a perfect finished product. I work with the highest quality materials so that your portrait will look flawless and stand the test of time.

Does it cost more? Yes. But quality always does. And paying a bit more for quality is always a sound investment. This is especially true when you realize that, unlike a sofa, which will likely be changed out over time, you are investing in preserving those beautiful moments that will never come again, both for yourself and for future generations.  When you commission a professional photographer you are paying for their expertise, talent, knowledge and time.  When you hire me you, I will provide you with all of the following –

Pre-session style consultation

1-2 hours to set up my studio and ensure that it will be comfortable for baby

1-4 hours of session time with an assistant for newborns to ensure the baby’s comfort and safety

8-12 hours to process the raw photos including editing and retouching

1-2 hours helping you to select your favorite images and portrait products

2-3 hours carefully processing and packaging the order of your portraits

I can spend anywhere between 13 and 23 hours per client per session to ensure that you are receiving exactly the images that you had wished for.  This doesn’t include any of the time that I spend searching for the perfect props and accessories (I stock over 10,000 props and accessories for your use), answering questions, and conducting the general duties of any business owner.

I would be honored to photograph you and your growing family.  Contact us to plan your session!
